Group Bookings

Allowing customers to book for multiple people in a single appointment

Group bookings let customers book a single appointment for multiple attendees. This is useful for services like family flu vaccinations, where several people need the same service at the same time.

Enabling Group Bookings

  1. Open the service offering's detail page
  2. Click Edit
  3. Toggle Group bookings on
  4. Set the Max group size (the maximum number of attendees per booking)
  5. Click Save

How It Works in the Booking Flow

When group bookings are enabled, customers and staff can add multiple attendees during the booking process:

  1. The first attendee's details are entered as usual
  2. Click Add New Customer to add another attendee
  3. Enter each attendee's name, date of birth, gender, mobile, and email
  4. Repeat until all attendees are added (up to the max group size)
  5. Confirm the booking

All attendees are booked into the same time slot under a single appointment.

Variant-Level Overrides

If a service uses offering groups, each variant can override the group booking settings independently. A variant can:

  • Enable or disable group bookings regardless of the parent setting
  • Set a different maximum group size

See Variant Overrides for details on how inheritance works.

Interaction with Capacity Limits

Each attendee in a group booking counts as one unit against capacity limits. A group of three people consumes three units of capacity.

If your service has both group bookings and capacity limits, make sure the capacity limit is high enough to accommodate typical group sizes.
